Residual Aromatic Extract (RAE)

HORIZON AR – R Series consists of aromatic process oils based on Residual Aromatic Extract (RAE). Their strong aromatic character ensures excellent compatibility with polar rubbers and provides effective plasticization in rubber compounds.

HORIZON AR – R Series consists of aromatic process oils based on Residual Aromatic Extract (RAE). Thanks to its strong aromatic character, it exhibits high compatibility with polar rubbers and functions as an effective plasticizer in rubber compounds. Residual Aromatic Extract oils are high‑aromatic rubber process oils used as extender oils in demanding rubber applications, offering excellent solvency characteristics. 

In accordance with EU directives, the content of harmful PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) measured as the sum of the eight specified substances — is limited to less than 10 ppm, and the Benzo(a)pyrene content is restricted to less than 1 ppm; the SOFER NOVE AR – R Series meets these requirements. These limits align with REACH Annex XVII restrictions for extender and process oils. 

This non‑staining rubber process oil is a pure mineral oil with a high aromatic content, formulated to provide superior solvency for rubber components. RAE helps achieve better dispersion of fillers and homogeneous mixing in rubber compounds. 

It improves processability in extrusion operations, promotes homogeneous structure, and delivers stable performance in technical rubber products. Additionally, due to its aromatic nature, it is also suitable for use in printing ink formulations and other industrial applications where aromatic processing oils are required.
